Official launch of the Edmonton Region Immigrant Employment Council

A new immigrant employment organization serving the Edmonton region will be launched Thursday, March 18 in The Atrium at Enterprise Square, 10230 Jasper Ave. The official program begins at 9 a.m. and concludes by 9:35 a.m.

Dignitaries include Teresa Woo-Paw, parliamentary assistant to the minister for Alberta Employment and Immigration; Mayor Stephen Mandel; Randy Ferguson, board chair of the Edmonton Economic Development Corporation, and Jacques Pelletier, board chair of the new organization. Several business people who have mentored internationally trained newcomers and several skilled newcomers will participate in the program.

 

The organization fills a unique niche in the Edmonton labour market, focusing on the business needs of employers.
