Cariwest – Edmonton Carribean Arts Festival

 Cariwest brings the spirit of Caribbean Carnival to the Festival City of Edmonton, Alberta. The festival is 3 days of fun filled activities! Along with the colorful costume extravaganza, you will also enjoy the sweet sounds of a steel pan, savor the flavor of West Indian Cuisine, and 'jump up' in the streets of Edmonton as you dance alongside the Mas band parade, with Calypso music resonating through your soul!

 

 

 

 

This year the festival celebrates it’s 25^th anniversary.

 

This is the schedule:

August 7th, 2009 - Cariwest Costume Extravaganza
Shaw Conference Centre, 9797 Jasper Avenue
Doors open at 7pm, show begins at 7:30pm
Adults $15, Children $10 (ages 6 - 12)

August 8th, 2009 - Annual Cariwest Caribbean Carnival Parade
Parade route starting at 121st and Jasper Avenue, ending at Churchill Square (Cariwest Caribbean Village)

August 8th, 2009 - Cariwest Fete
Entertainment provided by Calypsonian KV Charles & DJ Iceman.
Location: Hellenic Hall, address: 10450 116 ST
Time: 9pm - 2am
Advance tickets $25. $30 at the Door.

 

 

August 8 & 9th, 2009 - Cariwest Carnival Village
Location: Sir Winston Churchill Square
Time: 1pm - 7pm.
