Nations Of Champions
A Multilingual 13-Part Series on World Football

OMNI Television is pleased to present the exclusive Canadian television premiere of Nations of Champions, a 13-part series on world football (known as “soccer” in North America). The series has been versioned in English, Italian, Mandarin and Portuguese to celebrate the cross-cultural appeal of the world’s most popular sport.
Nations of Champions looks back at the careers of some of the sport’s most talented and influential players, and features some of the biggest football countries in the world.
Only a select group of players can rightly be labelled “champions” of world football. David Beckham; Ronaldo; Zinedine Zidane; Diego Maradona; Jürgen Klinsmann and John Best are just some of the stars who have left an indelible mark on world football over the course of their extraordinary careers.
England, Italy, Holland, Portugal, France, Germany and Argentina each have an entire episode dedicated to highlighting their respective history at the World Cup and other major international tournaments, while five-time World Cup winner Brazil has two episodes, headlined by the great Pele -- who won the World Cup in 1958, 1962 and 1970 – and Ronaldo, three-time World Player of the Year and two-time World Cup winner.
Two episodes break down some of the biggest names to come out of Europe, while the edition on Africa includes a look at George Weah, Liberia’s 1995 World, European and African Player of the Year.
As the world counts down to World Cup 2010 in South Africa, Nations of Champions kicks off the celebration by looking back on the greats of the game, who have created so many amazing memories.
